All great points but as someone who lived through the 1994 Northridge Earthquake and the 1971 San Fernando Earthquake (I was a child), I'm not sure if LA high rise buildings are a good idea. Anyone who's lived in LA for awhile knows that we're due for a big quake similar or larger than the one that just hit Turkey. I for one would not like to live in a high rise building when this quake comes.
