Becoming a Trumper, a Method Acting Approach

A poster for my journey into Trumphood.

It’s over. Our side lost. The election wasn’t stolen. Elon Musk didn’t hack the voting machines. It’s time to come to terms with reality. Trump is our president and we need to unite, left and right.

I voted against Trump. For the sake of the country, I’m extending a mea culpa. I will accept the election results and embrace Trumphood to the best of my ability. I’ve decided on a method acting approach. This means merging my physical, mental and emotional self to channel Trumper energy. I will compartmentalize old thoughts and feelings and allow the MAGA archetype to take over my being.

Step one, bask in the feelings of MAGAhood. Lee Strasberg, the father of method acting, taught that emotion is more important than thought when preparing for a role. To access my inner MAGAT, I’ve turned to the “Car Chase Channel” on Pluto TV. This allows me to watch freeway car chases 24/7. The first chase I viewed involved a half-dozen cop cars pursuing a stolen Maserati at speeds over 100 mph. The chase ended when the Maserati crashed into a freeway median. Two Latino men exited the car and ran across a barren field. A dozen officers tackled and handcuffed the car thieves. I felt a surge of adrenaline and satisfaction as I watched the perpetrators get hauled off to jail.
