Brutal but beautifully written essay. Not sure where you live but in Los Angeles where I live, these overt outbursts are rare. My wife is black, I'm white and the racism we encounter is found in judgmental glances, gestures, silence. Beneath everything is the unspoken fear of miscegenation. Your beautiful children who give us all hope for a better future are viewed by ignorant and sick degenerates as evil. Not sure what can be done about these folks. As my grandma said, "you can't make sense out of nonsense." Thank you for writing this piece.
