I love this story and the energy behind it. Your comment at the literary conference was beautiful and honest. I don't view it as melancholic. There are far too many crabby artists in the world. Appreciating life itself is the truest art form. As Beat Poet Gregory Corso said, "I'd rather have the happy poet than the unhappy poems he's left us."
