It's a mistake to view homeless people as different from you or your daughter. Many on the street were once contributing members of society paying high rents like everyone else. We are all connected. Describing homeless as "these people" is no different than marginalizing any group whether you're referring to race, religion, gender or sexual preference. Every person on the street has their own unique story. This could happen to anyone including you. (I pray it doesn't.) There for the grace of God go I.
