I've read "The Hero With a Thousand Faces" by Joseph Campbell. It is a classic and it's one of my favorites. It reminds me of another book I love called "Meeting the Shadow Side: The Hidden Power of the Dark Side of Human Nature." It's a collection of essays by people like Carl Jung, Joseph Campbell, Rollo May and James Hillman. It's about our unconscious mind and how we repress unresolved emotional issues. There are kernels of gold in these hidden caverns and only when we bring our subconscious to light can we function as an actualized human being. It's heady stuff but fantastic with spiritual overtones.
