Love this article and love this movie. It reminds me of how I felt in Huntington Beach a few weeks before the recent election. Everyone was suspicious of outsiders, particularly those who did not support Trump. I felt one wrongly uttered phrase or question could lead to me getting pummeled. Paranoia perhaps or simply tapping into the energy of the moment. The film is timeless and feels as vivid today as it did when it was made.
