You are correct in asserting Babe was progressive in his attitudes. The issue of Babe having "black blood" may seem pointless from the perspective of 2024. But back in the 1920's when pro baseball did not allow black athletes, racial attitudes were far from pointless. If Babe did in fact have "black blood," then his hiding of this fact is historically significant. I don't intend to spout conspiracy theories. Just posing a question that others have posed before me.
